Our Process
 01 - Discovery Meeting
An initial consultation to review the architectural plans and project brief. Discuss priorities, budget, style and intended use of each space. This may be held in person within the local area, virtually by video/phone call or simply via email.
02 - Initial Concept Revision 1
A concept lighting layout is prepared on the architectural plans supplied by the client.Â
03 - Concept Consultaion
We review the proposed layout and design intent visually, including luminaire positioning, suggested control and how adjoining spaces will be used. Full luminaire specifications are not assigned at this stage. This may be held in person within the local area, on site or virtually by video call.
04 - Detailed Design Deliverables Revision 2
Following the concept consultation, the detailed lighting design and specification schedule are issued by email as PDF documents.

Lighting design: proposed luminaire locations, a clear symbol legend and suggested control circuits. Relevant points noted for the electrician to further clarify with the electrical site meeting such as sensors, dimming and indications of integrated joinery lighting.

Specification schedule: fitting images, quantities, descriptions and dimensions. Technical information detailed such as cut-out sizes, mounting details and remote-driver requirements. Decorative lighting recommendations included where appropriate.
05 -Â Detailed Design Consultation
A consultation to review the detailed design and specification schedule, discuss the options and gather client feedback. This can be a great opportunity to meet on site if the timing allows. The site walkthrough is generally most valuable at framing stage, once the roof is on and before internal linings are installed. This allows maximum flexibility to check wiring positions, mounting conditions and practical installation requirements. Alternatively, this consultation may be held in person within the local area or virtually by video call.Â
06 - Detailed Design Deliverable Revision 3
The lighting design and specification schedule documents are updated to include revisions made/if any, following the consultation.
07 - Supply Pricing
Where requested, a supply quotation is prepared to help assess product costs and support selection decisions.
Please Note :
Every project will have different requirements. This 7 step structure will provide an excellent detailed lighting plan to work from. Some designs will require little to no change from here. Other projects may facilitate multiple revisions and site visits. Or detailed and in-depth collaboration with the design and build team to bring the finished project to life.Â

A3 Printed Site Folder
A3 Folder based on final revision. This contains comprehensive information for a smoother process for all trades on site. Colour printed Lighting Design and Specification Schedule documents. Spec sheets for all luminaires and drivers. Supplier installation instruction sheets and any other project specific relevant information that can help streamline and save time and stress.
